SCANNING LINE CONVERTER, DISPLAY DRIVING DEIVCE AND TELEVISION SYSTEM CONVERTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To convert an input signal having the optional number of scanning lines into the input signal with the common number of scanning lines. CONSTITUTION:A mode deciding circuit 22 detects the horizontal synchronizing signal and vertical synchronizing signal of the input signal so as to output mode information. A scanning line number converting circuit 21 converts the scanning lines of the input signal into the intermediate scanning line number being near to the required scanning line number based on the mode information. A vertical companding circuit 23 executes time expansion to the said converting signal and converts the scanning line number of the input signal into the required scanning line number so as to output it.
