PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a flexographic printing plate prepd. by a photoirradiation curing polyurethane elastomer compsn. CONSTITUTION: The flexographic printing plate is produced by a process for providing a relief image formable material having a flexible substrate having the photoirradiation curing compsn. of at least 0.3mm thickness on at least one surface, a process for curing the compsn. in the irradiated regions by irradiating the compsn. according to an image, a process for bringing the layer irradiated according to the image and the absorption layer capable of absorbing the non-irradiated compsn. heated to 40 to 200 deg.C into contact with each other, a process for heating the compsn. layer at 40 to 200 deg.C which is the temp. sufficient for admitting the compsn. into the absorption layer in the non-irradiated regions in the state of maintaining the contact with the absorption layer, a process for absorbing at least 75% of the compsn. in the non-irradiated regions held in contact with the absorption layer into the absorption layer and a process for removing at least 75% of the compsn. from the non-irradiated regions on the flexible substrate by removing the absorption layer. |
