The invention concerns a method of production of 2-N-,N-dihydroxyethylamine-4-acetylaminoanisole by means of hydroxyethylation of 2-amine-4-acetylaminoanisole in raised temperature, characterised in that 2-N-,N-dihydroxyethylamine-4-acetylaminoanisole comprising not more than 3-5 percent of 2-N-monohydroxyethylamine-4-aceto -aminoanisole is obtained by acting on 1 mole of 2-amine-4-acetylaminoanisole as hydrous suspension of concentration 10-50 percent, preferably 20-30 percent, with ethylene oxide in amount 2.1 to 2.6 mole, however, the process is executed in temperature not exceeding 110 degrees C periodically or constantly.
