<p>PURPOSE:To regulate to maintain a generating voltage constant by a rapid response when a variation in an electric load is small and to gradually alter an exciting duty of a generating field coil so as to eliminate a variation in the speed of an engine if the electric load is largely varied. CONSTITUTION:A counter 12 up-or down-counts in response to a binary level of a comparison signal S of a generating voltage VB and a reference voltage Vr. A pulse width generator 13 drives a transistor 14 by a duty responsive to a counted value. If a variation in an electric load 4 is small and the comparison signal is level-inverted at a short period, a discriminator 15 applies a clock pulse of a high frequency to the counter through a clock switching circuit 16 to rapidly alter the counted value. When the load is largely varied and the comparison signal maintains the same level for a predetermined clock period or more, the clock pulse is switched to a low frequency, and the counted value is smoothly varied at a speed not cause a variation in the speed of an engine.</p> |
