PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of an operator and to prevent the malfunction by delivering a format information name identified by a format information identifier to a format information control part, receiving format information from a format information storage part and editing a document in an editing part in accordance with this format. CONSTITUTION:When the document name of a document to be edited is designated by an input device 4, an input control part 15 delivers the document name to an editing part 11. This part 11 reports it to a document R/W part 10 and takes out the designated document in a document storage device 2. A document data analyzing part 13 analyzes the data and if it is a document data starting code, the contents are checked, and the format information name of a format information group is identified by the document information identifier. It is reported to a format information control part 17, and pertinent format information is acquired form a format information storage part 12 and reported to the editing part 11. The editing part 11 sets a format by reported format information, and document data delivered from the document data analyzing part 13 is edited. |
