The method maps color video from a video controller onto a plasma display panel. It comprises: the 1st stage for generating composite signals (A1,A2,A3,A4) by combining SG,RG and SB signal; the 2nd stage for outputting the signals (A1-A4) according to the dot status (DT01,DT02,DT11,DT12); the 3rd stage for composing the signals (A1- A4) with R,G and B video data to generate the composite signals (B1,B2); and the 4th stage for shifting the signals (B1,B2) to generate display signals of dots (DT01,DT02,DT11,DT12).
