A method for production of a transfer medium for a catalyst of oxychlorination of ethylene, characterized in that Turoszow and/or Jaroszow clays with 2- and/or 3-packet structures containing 50-65 percent by weight of SiO2, 19-30 percent by weight of Al2O3 and alkaline metal oxides or alkaline earth metal oxides to an amount of 3.0-15 percent by weight are thermally processed at a temperature of 500-840 degrees C for 12-24 hours, and afterwards subjected to chemical processing, involving the action of HCl at a temperature 40-90 degrees C for 2-3 hours, and are then neutralized through rinsing to pH 7.0.
