PURPOSE:To obtain an optical scanning device which optically scans a surface to be scanned with high accuracy by properly setting the film constitution of the reflection mirror of a light deflector and the polarized state of the flux of light made incident on the reflection mirror. CONSTITUTION:In the optical scanning device which optically scans the surface to be scanned 6 by conducting the light to the surface 6 through a scanning lens 5 after the flux of linearly polarized light emitted from a light source part 1 is deflected by the light deflector 4, the light deflector 4 deflects the flux of light by the rotation or the vibration of the reflection mirror, and the reflection mirror is constituted of a material pricipally composed of Al, and an Al2O3 layer is formed on the deflecting reflection surface of the mirror, then the flux of the linearly polarized light from the light source part 1 is made incident on the deflecting reflection surface nearly in a P polarized light state. |
