PURPOSE:To accomplish a switching device capable of permitting a large-scaled switching matrix size by eliminating such a characteristic that the size of the device is proportioned to the square of the number of terminals. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a ferrule inserting/ejecting and carrying mechanism 9 capable of moving in a gap part between coated optical fibers groups divided by a connector adapter moving mechanism so as to insert/ eject the connector ferrule 3 to/from an optional connector adapter 4, and a control part for storing the history of the connection between the coated optical fibers and for moving the mechanism so as to perform the necessary action, thus, the connection by the connectors between the optional coated optical fiber can be performed without the need of releasing the engagement of the other connectors so as to prevent the entanglement between the coated optical fiber. |
