<p>A self-igniting cigarette includes cap which is mounted at one end and separated from the cigarette by a grid. Reactive elements are stored within the cap and retained by the grid until the cigarette is to be lit. The cap may be twisted, or compressed to initiate an exothermic reaction which ignites the cigarette. Pref. the reagents are sodium and water and in another, the reagents are Raney nickel and air. Capsules of sodium (8) and water (9) are retained in the cap (2) which is attached to the cigarette rod (12). -</p> |
