A unit for fastening the shock absorber of an autocoupler, consisting of a chamber located in an end-sill, whose longitudinal axis overlaps with the longitudinal axis of a sidesill, and of the autocoupler arm installed in the chamber and with a pin connection to the shock absorber, where the position of the shock absorber in a horizontal plane is fixed with the use of vertical supports adjacent to its piston rod, while in a vertical plane this position is determined by the inside surfaces of the chamber adjacent to the shock absorber body, characterised in that between the ends of the body of the shock absorber (3) there is an flange (8) which, with the shock absorber (3) at a maximum distance from the end sill (1), abuts the vertical resisting elements (9) of the side wall surface of the chamber (2) supported by horizontal ribs (10) located on the side walls of the chamber (2) in their parts lying on the opposite side of the end sill (1).<IMAGE>
