The subject of the present invention is a machine for tightening and untightening bolts (4) for fixing a cover (2) on an enclosure (1). The machine comprises means (10) for centring on the cover (2), a ring (12) supported by the said centring means, means (20) for simultaneously prestressing several bolts, means (36) for screwing or unscrewing several bolts simultaneously, disengageable means for controlling, simultaneously or separately, the vertical movement of the prestressing means (20) and the screwing or unscrewing means (36), means for screwing or unscrewing a tightening nut on each bolt, integrated means (85) for storing all the bolts, and means (87) for handling the bolts. <IMAGE>
