PURPOSE:To prevent the partial abrasion or overheating of a thrust collar or a guide bearing and to continue a normal operation by installing a ring- shaped upper thrust bearing on the thrust collar for causing the upper thrust bearing to receive a reaction force of a liquid due to a sudden change in angle of blades of a shaft of a pump. CONSTITUTION:Together with the load of a main shaft 1, a reaction force caused by the load of a rotary shaft of a pump connected to the end of the main shaft 1 and wafer discharged by blades of the rotary shaft of the pump is supported by a thrust bearing 3. The thrust bearing 3 is supported by the bottom of a bearing box 6 through a coil spring 9 inserted between a lower surface of the thrust bearing 3 and the bottom of the bearing box. When the main shaft 1 is lifted due to a sudden change in angle of blades of the pump, an upper surface of a flange part 2a of a thrust collar 2 is brought into contact with a lower surface of an upper thrust bearing 4. Thanks to lubricating oil existing between the lower and lined surface of the upper thrust bearing 4 and the upper surface of the flange part 2a, the thrust collar 2 is not burned nor overheated partially and therefore a smooth operation can be continued. |
