PURPOSE:To correct a motion signal by decreasing mis-discrimination of an in-region motion detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:This circuit is provided with a nonlinear circuit 23 to detect a motion of a picture to obtain a motion signal, a region motion detection circuit 24 detecting the motion in a region on a screen and obtaining a region motion detection signal, and a time axis expansion circuit 20 obtaining an edge detection signal representing it that a picture edge part appears continuously on a time axis, and when the time axis expansion circuit 20 detects an edge part continuously on the time axis and the region movement detection circuit 24 detects a still region, the motion signal is corrected to represent a still picture. |
