The apparatus to prevent the slacking of tape comprises a master cam (20) rotated by a loading motor, a main sliding device (11), linked to a brake lever (21) operated by the master cam, to operate a brake which brakes reel disc (12)(22), an apparatus to drive an idle gear which switches the driving and the rotation direction of reel disc by the feed of the main sliding device, an apparatus to prevent the slacking of tape at the time when the rotation direction is reversed by the feed of the main sliding device.
