The invention relates to an axial piston motor with an adjustable absorption volume for fitting in a wheel hub, with a motor casing open on one side and closed off by a connection block, a drive shaft fitted so as to rotate in the casing and connection block, an adjusting device for altering the absorption volume, a reduction gear driven by the drive shaft with a drive pinion to drive the wheel hub and a brake for the drive shaft on the connexion block. To facilitate the construction with more compact dimensions and to provide easier access from outside to the adjusting device, the reduction gear (13) is fitted inside the motor casing (1, 3) with support for the drive pinion (47) on both sides, the connection block (5) is set back radially in relation to the motor casing (1), and the adjusting device (28, 29, 30) is positioned in the uncovered region (23) of the motor casing (1, 2) so as to be freely accessible from outside.
