Line is produced in which a profiled component is coated on at least part. The component is at least partially placed in an appropriately shaped mould and the coating is injected into the mould. A pref. coating is polymethylmethacrylate, the basic component is e.g. metal, wood, or plastics. ADVANTAGE - Provides a perfect seal for the surface. Largely eliminates problems of any environmental pollution. In an example, a starting material (1) is e.g. wood, fabric, film, etc. which is first bent to the required shape. The back is covered with e.g. aluminium sheet (3) for reinforcement which reaches the edges of the material (1). Assembly is placed in an injection mould; the mould completely covers over the front faces and rim but leaves the back uncovered. The (e.g.) acrylic shot is injected into the mould to produce the coating (2) which also covers the edges and thus produces an effective seal against moisture penetration. Other coating details can be alternatives to suit the application. Surface variations e.g. fluting can also be produced in the front covering (2).
