Decontamination of infections (hospital) waste by heating - with addn. of additives and fillers giving little waste gas and no waste water

In the decontamination of infectious waste, low in waste gas and free from waste water, where heating is used to sterilise the waste and decompose unwanted chemicals, heated additives and fillers are added to the decontamination. Pref. the additives and fillers are added unheated to the preconsolidated material. The additive is CaO and CaCO3, in amt. of 2-50 (5010) wt.%, and the filler is 30% of sand. Air is expelled from the preconsolidated material by passage of CO2. Pref. a supply container for the additives is connected to the pre-consolidifier, and to the decontaminator through a heater. ADVANTAGE - Treatment may be in stationary or mobile plant, and gives a sterilised waste contg. no environment unfriendly prods.
