The intelligent remote measuring and setting system includes terminal for acquiring, processing and storing analogue and/or digital data. Each terminal is connected to a number of other terminals in a network. A terminal node computer (TNC) in each terminal automatically selects the transmission path having the least interference for communication with any number of other terminals in the network, each terminal acting as a relay station, or each being connected to a central station. One or several of the terminals can act as central stations. A mobile unit is connected to the network via a modem using a single carrier frequency. After switch-on, it is supplied with sufficient energy for signal conversion. The modem is pref. built into the mobile unit, which may be a radio tranceiver. The modem may be connected to the serial interface of a personal computer. USE - E.g for D-network, GSM mobile radio network, Digital European Cordless Telephone (DECT), or personal communication network (PCN).
