The invention concerns a method and apparatus for analysing agglutination reactions, the reactants being placed on a micro-column. The agglutination reaction takes place on the micro-column, preferably before the reactants have passed through the gel matrix. Agglutinated and non-agglutinated particles are preferably separated from each other by filtration accelerated by force application. The eluate containing the non-agglutinated particles is subjected to quantitative analysis after it has left the column.
