Paper-making drying groups - has web transfer between fourdrinier(s) without change of direction

To link two drying groups in a papermaking machine, where at least one continuous fourdrinier carries the paper web through each section (1,2), the web is transferred from the fourdrinier (5) of the first group (1), downstream of the final stage, to the fourdrinier (6) at the next group (2) without any real deflection of the path. The fourdrinier (6) of the second group (2) pref. takes the paper web and carries it on without a change of direction. The path of at least one fourdrinier in the two groups (1,2) can be altered so that, if necessary, the two groups can be separated. An adjustable fourdrinier guide roller (7), for the first (5) or second (6) fourdrinier, brings them in contact with each other in operation, and allows them to be separated, with an adjusted or controlled pressure to press the fourdriniers together for transfer of the paper web. At or before the transfer of the paper web from the firt fourdrinier (5) an upper suction box holds the web against the fourdrinier, and the first roller (8') of the second gp. (2) is a suction roller to hold the web against it, in front of the guide roller (7) for the first fourdrinier (5). ADVANTAGE - The array gives a smooth transfer of the web between the drying groups, without damage or distortion, and the gps. are displaced from each other to avoid contact.
