Use of carbocycline derivs. - esp. iloprost, cicaprost, eptaloprost, beraprost or ciprostene, for treatment of vitiligo

The use of carbocycline derivs. (I) and their base salts and cyclodextrin clathrates for the treatment of vitiligo is new. (I) is pref. iloprost, cicaprost, eptaloprost, beraprost or ciprostene. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are TNF-synthesis inhibitors and are pref. applied topically in conventional dosage forms contg. 20-40 mcg/g vehicle. Max. tolerated daily dose is 80-160 mcg. (I) are superior to monoclonal antibodies against TNF and have reduced side effects compared with other known treatments such as PUVA therapy. They are vascular protective, produce a long term hyperpigmentation when used topically and are also active when used prophylactically
