Hydraulic pump with opposed pistons - is used in two=stroke engine and has shut=off valve fitted to compensating cylinders

The hydraulic pump has freely opposed pistons. A shut-off valve (11) fitted to the compensating cylinders of the delivery lines is closed off by dividers (9,10) if the pump valve skews so water volume increases in the bottom cylinders. Pref, dividers are pistons equipped with pressure-compensated flexible foam (S), and the shut-off valve fits into the closed-top cylinder housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - I.c. engines, e.g. for aircraft. Shut-off valve closes in angled flight etc. to keep compensating cylinders in balance.
