PURPOSE:To record the respective signals in each magnetic layer with a good magnetizing efficiency by setting an orienting direction of plural magnetic layers in the shape of a layer of a magnetic tape, to the direction corresponding to the gap of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer 1a of a magnetic tape 1 is formed in the shape of three layers of an upper layer 1a1, an intermediate layer 1a2 and a lower layer 1a3. The orienting direction of magnetic material particles of the lower 1a3 is parallel to the surface of a tape, at an almost right angle with the direction of gaps gL1, gL2 of two rotary magnetic heads (an angular interval of 180 deg. and an azimuth angle is + or -45 deg.) HL1, HL2, and is set to a direction y0 of 45 deg. to a direction falling at a right angle with a scanning direction X. The orienting direction of the intermediate layer 1a2 is parallel to the surface of a tape, and is set to a direction x0 of -45 deg. go a direction falling at a right angle with X. The orienting direction of the upper layer 1a1 is set to a direction z0 almost vertical to the surface of a tape. A video signal and two groups of modulation voice signals are supplied to three pairs of magnetic heads HV1, HV2; HR1, HR2 and HL1, HL2 of an angular interval of 180 deg., which are fitted to a rotary head 2, respectively, and they are recorded with a good magnetizing efficiency in the upper layer 1a1, the intermediate layer 1a2 and the lower layer 1a3, respectively. |
