Energy, in particular heat energy, is exchanged with the waste material through the tube, the waste material is at least partly converted to a gaseous phase and the flow of energy and the time for which the waste material is exposed to the latter (residence time) is regulated so as to establish the activation energy required to remove the noxious substances. To improve this process, in particular regarding the potential applications and profitability, the invention proposes that the process be carried out in several steps. After each step, noxious substances are removed and in each step the parameters which determine the activation energy (energy, residence) are re-established. |
