PURPOSE:To make use of the characteristics of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene such as resistance to wear, non-blocking properties, self-lubrication properties and resistance to chemicals and extend the range of utilization of a roll by disposing a coated layer formed by shrinking an ultra-high-molecular- weight polyethylene shrinkable pipe outside of a core material. CONSTITUTION:An ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene coated roll is composed of a core material 1 and a coated layer 2 formed by shrinking an ultra- high-molecular-weight polyethylene shrinkable pipe disposed on the outside of the core material 1. The ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene shrinkable pipe is formed by ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene having 5.0dl/g ultimate viscosity [eta]or more, and its outer diameter (D) is 10mm or more and its wall thickness (t) is 0.2mm or more, while the ratio of outer diameter/wall thickness (D/t) is set as 10 or more and the shrinkage factor in the diameter direction at 140 deg.C is set as 10% or more. The characteristics of ultra-high- molecular-weight polyethylene provided in the coated layer 2 such as resistance to wear, non-blocking properties, self-lubrication properties and resistance to chemicals are utilized by the arrangement to extend the range of use of the roll. |
