PURPOSE:To enable bothway rotation driving of a stepping motor by controlling a voltage to be applied to coils. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 4 is magnetized in two poles. A stator is composed of main magnetic poles 1, 2 and an auxiliary magnetic pole 3, and the rotor- facing angle alpha of said auxiliary magnetic pole 3 is smaller than that of said main magnetic poles 1 and 2. This apparatus is provided with two coils 5 and 6, of which the coil 5 is magnetically connected with the main magnetic pole 2 and the auxiliary magnetic pole 3 and the coil 6, with the main magnetic pole 1 and said auxiliary magnetic pole 3. Both ends 7, 8, 9, 10 of windings of said two coils 5, 6 are all connected with a drive circuit. As a driving method for this apparatus, a voltage is applied to one of said coils 5, 6 and successively to the coils 5, 6 in parallel with each other. The direction of rotation can be determined by selection of the coil 5 or 6 to which said voltage is applied first. |
