PURPOSE:To stably produce a magnetic resistance device capable of inhibiting the occurrence of noise by constituting an alloy of a composition consisting of specific weight percentages of Fe and rare earth elements and the balance Ni. CONSTITUTION:The alloy for magnetic resistance has a composition consisting of, by weight, 5-25% Fe, 1-10% rare earth elements, and the balance Ni except impurities. The anisotropic magnetic field of this alloy is regulated to >=4.5Oe. In order to produce this alloy, Fe and rare earth elements, by the amounts in the above-mentioned ranges, and Ni are subjected to arc melting. The resulting alloy is put into a crucible in a vacuum deposition apparatus, and the inside of the apparatus is reduced to high vacuum. The alloy in the crucible is heated and melted by means of an electron gun and vapor-deposited onto a substrate made of hard glass. By this method, e.g. a sensor having high output and superior precision can be produced by using this alloy for magnetic resistance. |
