PURPOSE:To enable drying of a gelatinization internal liquid to be suppressed and a liquid-junction function to be valid for a long period of time and then obtain a stable reference potential by dissolving lithium chloride (LiCl) and ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) and then providing an internal liquid with a specific concentration ratio between both. CONSTITUTION:A reference electrode dissolves lithium chloride and ammonium nitrate and is provided with an internal liquid. where [NH4NO3]/[LiCl]>=4. For example, an aqueous solution containing 0.5mol LiCl and 3mol NH4NO3 is adjusted and AgC is added to it for saturation. A gelatin powder of 3wt.% is added to this aqueous solution and is poured into a glass tube 1 before hardening. An Ag/AgCl wire 2 is inserted and its adhesion property with a gelatization internal liquid 3 is maintained. Then, a lead wire 4 and the glass tube 1 are adhered by an epoxy resin 5 for forming a reference electrode, thus enabling drying to be suppressed and a liquid-junction function to be valid for a long period of time and then obtaining a reference potential without causing a potential difference between liquids to fluctuate since a high hygroscopic electrolyte is provided. |
