<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a control system from oscillating to control sheet thickness with high accuracy by setting the response speed of a tension control means to amend the clearance between rolls of an adjacent rolling stand to characteristics mutually different from each other. CONSTITUTION:Plural rolling stands roll a hot rolled steel sheet in series. The tension of a steel sheet to be rolled on the upstream of the rolling stands is measured and a tension control means TC instructs amendment of the clearance between the rolls of the rolling stand and adjustment of the tension to a rolling down control means PC. The response speeds of the adjacent tension control means TC(i-l), TC(i), TC(i+l) of the rolling stands are set to the mutually different characteristics. Change of the rolling down by tension control of the (i)-th stand changes both upstream and downstream tensions. Oscillation of the control system is prevented since response characteristics are deviated and set. Since a system set in characteristics having a quick response speed follows and compensates quick disturbance, too, the sheet thickness can be controlled with high accuracy.</p> |
