PURPOSE:To provide an air bag of light weight and thin texture, excellent in housing property and small in shock against the face at the time of inflation by applying a silicone resin liquid as an aqueous emulsion to a filament cloth composing the air bag. CONSTITUTION:An air bag is comprised of a filament cloth of 6.6-nylon or 6-nylon. A silicone resin liquid as an aqueous emulsion obtained by emulsifying and dispersing a silicone resin in water is applied to the filament cloth. For this treatment, a dipping tank and devices which can remove an excessive silicone resin liquid by a mangle or vacuum, for example, are used. An applicable quantity of the silicone resin is set in the range of 0.1-10g/m<2>. Consequently the air bag having sufficient thermal resistance, of light weight and thin texture, of soft feeling, and small in shock against the human body can be manufactured. |
