PURPOSE:To provide a vacuum mold which enables a formed article with skin to be obtained without causing any adhesion failure portions or recesses to a skin material on the surface of the formed article having a recessed face even in the case where a thin skin material (film material) is used. CONSTITUTION:Frames 5a, 5a are peripherally provided at the portions of a vacuum mold 5, which are positioned at the outer peripheral parts of a base material 2 to be set on the vacuum mold, in such a manner as to be projected upward higher than the height of outer edge portions 2b, 2b of the base material 2. A skin material 4 to be vacuum-formed is placed on the frames 5a, 5a of the vacuum mold 5. The skin material 4 softened under heating during vacuum forming is first brought into contact with a recessed face portion 2a at the substantially central part of the base material 2 set on the vacuum mold 5, and then starts to be formed and to adhere to the base material with the aid of an adhesive 3. Thereafter, the forming and adhesion are successively carried out toward the outer edge portions of the base material while air is being discharged outside. |
