PURPOSE:To develop color at relatively high temperatures and to prevent simultaneous generation of colors when an upper thermosensitive color generating layer having the color generating thermal energy overlapped with that of a lower layer is to be thermally recorded with using a color thermosensitive recording material provided with a first-a third thermosensitive color generating layers generating different colors. CONSTITUTION:A color thermosensitive recording material 7 has a thermosensitive cyan color generating layer 3, a thermosensitive magenta color generating layer 4, a thermosensitive yellow color generating layer 6 and a protecting layer 6 sequentially provided on a supporting body 2. The thermal recording sensitivity of the thermosensitive yellow color generating layer 5 is highest, and that of the lowest thermosensitive cyan color generating layer 3 is lowest. As the thermal head and the thermosensitive recording material are relatively moved, the material is thermally recorded and optically fixed from the uppermost layer, whereby a multi-color image is recorded to the thermosensitive recording material. In this case, when the upper thermosensitive layer having the color generating thermal energy overlapped with that of the lower layer is to be thermally recorded, it is so arranged as to generate color in a short time at higher temperatures than the heat generating temperature range required for a predetermined density. Therefore, mixing of colors due to the simultaneous generation of colors can be prevented. |
