PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of coarse grains and to enhance strength by incorporating a solid soln. of Y2O3 in ZrO2 into a specified material. CONSTITUTION:Li2O, Na2O and Al2O3 feeding sources are mixed and fired to obtain Li stabilized beta'-Al2O3 as powdery starting material. A solid soln. of 3-8mol% Y2O3 in ZrO2 is added to the starting material by 1-7.5vol.% and they are mixed, dried and molded. The resulting molded body is fired at about 1,580 deg.C to produce a solid electrolyte. |
