PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic spectrum microscope which can separately measure both an attenuation constant due to reradiation to a liquid body of a surface acoustic wave and that due to scattering and absorption during propagation. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic spectrum microscope is provided with a transmission/reception independent-type sensor consisting of a pair of spherical surface transducer 4 at a transmission side and a plane transducer 6 at a reception side. An output of this sensor is optimized by a controller 18 as shown by an output expression which independently contains an attenuation constant alphaL caused by reradiation of a surface acoustic wave into a liquid body and an attenuation constant alphad caused by scattering and absorption during propagation of the surface acoustic wave. |
