PURPOSE:To generate a satisfactory decelerating force by arranging so that No.1 down-shift line set to the high car speed side is always selected when the brakes are actuated. CONSTITUTION:The sorts of No.1 down-shift line and No.2 down-shift line on the lower car speed side than the No.1 are set as the down-shift gearing line when a select device is in the engine brake position. The arrangement includes a brake operation judging means to judge the operation of the brakes and an at-braking down-shift line selecting means to select the No.1 downshift line when judgment is such, that the brakes are in effect, irrespective of the time elapsed from the select device being turned into the engine brake position. If accordingly the select device is turned into the engine brake position while the car speed is high, a down-shift is conducted where the car speed sinks down to the No.1 down-shift line, and engine brakes will be applied at an early stage. |
