<p>PURPOSE:To improve an LED driving method for an LED printer forming images according to the electrophotographic method, thereby to speed up printing, stabilize the printing quality and reduce costs. CONSTITUTION:An LED array chip has a plurality of LED chips aligned in one array. Drive ICs are connected in parallel to each of (m) LED groups each divided into (n). The LED array chip emitting light upon receipt of a driving signal from the drive IC is repeatedly scanned for every group divided into (n) by a scanning circuit means in (m) steps. Every time the unit group is completely scanned, an LED array chip in the succeeding group adjacent to the unit group in the scanning direction is started to be scanned.</p> |
