PRODUCTION OF ORIENTED MATTE FILM OF VINYLIDENE FLUORIDE-BASED RESIN

PURPOSE:To obtain a vinylidene fluoride-based resin film whose surface is made matte by an easy means without impairing the electric characteristics by using a cooling roll having the surface temperature lower than the temperature of molten resin and cooling a molten resin film extruded from the die of an extruder and orienting this film. CONSTITUTION:Not only a homopolymer of vinylidene fluoride but also a copolymer incorporating vinylidene chloride as a main body are used as vinylidene fluoride-based resin used for the raw material of a film. The molten resin film extruded from the die of an extruder is cooled by using a cooling roll having the surface temperature lower than the temperature of this molten resin by 40-80 deg.C and thereafter wound around a winding roll. This unoriented film is oriented at the temperature not lower than glass transition point of the vinylidene fluoride-based resin and at the temperature below the melting point thereof. Orientation is performed by any of uniaxial orientation and biaxial orientation. In the case of biaxial orientation, orientation is performed by any of the successive biaxial orientation and simultaneous biaxial orientation.
