PURPOSE:To improve the productivity and the reliability while preventing the malfunction or breakage, etc., without necessitating extra time for the next printing operation even when tone current printing operation is interrupted by a reset signal. CONSTITUTION:In a printing apparatus, an image receiving paper and an ink sheet are interposed between a platen drum and a thermal head. When the image receiving paper is heated and recorded as it is pressed in touch with the thermal head, a color image is formed. According to this controlling method of the printing apparatus, when a reset signal from an operating part or a host device or in accordance with the ON/OFF of a host unit is detected, the printing operation is interrupted or the error state is relieved. Moreover, the first, color of the ink sheet, is selected concurrently when a predetermined resetting operation is carried out. |
