PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizer which is capable of preventing a rise in the load temperature of a freezing compartment during defrosting operation without spoiling the defrosting performance and an abnormal frosting on a cooler. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizer is provided in a refrigerator to remove unpleasant smell contained in the air in compartments of the refrigerator, and located under a cooler 6. A cover member 20 is furnished under the cooler 6 and an opening 20b is formed in an are 20a on the cover member 20 where a catalyst 21 and a heater 14 are not arranged.
