PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst for purifying exhaust gas is prepared by adding at least one kind of a group Ib, VIII metal of the Periodic Table to crystalline silicate having a chemical formula aR2O.bMO.Al2O3.cSiO2 (wherein R is an alkali metal ion and/or a hydrogen ion, M is an alkaline earth metal selected from Ca, Mg, Sr and Ba, a is 0-2, b is 0.03-40, a+b>1 and c is 11-3000) shown by a mol ratio of oxides in a dehydrated state. |
