摘要 PURPOSE:To automatically correct the error of a geomagnetic sensor so as to reduce the burden of a user, and maintain the measuring accuracy of the geomagnetic sensor to the specified accuracy regarding an azimuth detecting device used for an on-vehicle navigation system. CONSTITUTION:An azimuth detecting device 100 is provided with a GPS position measuring means 101 receiving position measuring radio waves from a GPS satellite so as to output first azimuth data D1, and a geomagnetic sensor 102 for outputting second azimuth data D2. There are further provided a storage means 103 stored with first azimuth data D1B and second azimuth data D2B in the preceding measurement timing, and a correcting arithmetic means 104 for obtaining the true magnetic circle data DTC on the geomagnetic sensor 102 from the above-mentioned first azimuth data D1B, D1 and second azimuth data D2B, D2 in the preceding and present measurement timing so as to correct the geomagnetic sensor 102 on the basis of the true magnetic circle data DTC.
