PURPOSE:To obtain new diamines useful as an intermediate for insecticidal nitromethylene derivatives. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula II [R is H or lower alkyl; X is halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulfinyl, lower alkylsulfonyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl, aryloxy which may be substituted with halogen, arylthio or aralkyl which may be substituted with halogen; (1) is an integer of 1-4; (m) is 2, 3 or 4; (n) is an integer of 0-3, provided that formula I will not be formula III], e.g. N-(2-bromo-5-pyridylmethyl) ethylenediamine. The aforementioned compound is obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula IV (Y is halogen or OSO2R''; R'' is lower alkyl or aryl) with a compound expressed by formula V. Furthermore, the above- mentioned compound is useful as an intermediate for insecticidal nitromethylene derivatives. |
