<p>PURPOSE:To make the size of an evaporative fuel treatment device smaller by making liquid evaporative fuel absorbed into an organic macromolecular absorbent in a macromolecule chamber while making only gas thereof adsorbent activated carbon, thereby eliminating degradation of evaporative fuel capturing performance due to the adsorption of the liquid on activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:An activated carbon chamber 11 filled with acitivated carbon 4 is provided under a macromolecule chamber 12 loaded with organic macromolecular absorbents 5 (e.g. polypropylene). And an admitting pipe 15 for admitting evaporative fuel and a purge pipe 16 are connected to a first space 31 provided above the chamber 12. A third space 33 for admitting the atmosphere is provided above the chamber 11 and an atmosphere pipe 17 is connected to the space 33. Further, a communication pipe 36 is interconnected between a second space 32 and a fourth space 35 under the chamber 11. As a result, liquid of evaporative fuel is absorbed into the absorbents 5 in the chamber 12, while only gas thereof is adsorbed on the activated carbon, whereby degradation of evaporative fuel capturing performance due to the adsorption of liquid on activated carbon can be avoided, thereby reducing the size of an evaporative fuel treatment device.</p> |
