<p>PURPOSE:To always accurately discriminate the validity/invalidity of each coin and the sort of the coin by leading a reference coin to a detection part in the waiting state of coin feeding and setting up the detection value of the reference coin as a reference value to be compared with the detection value of an inserted coin. CONSTITUTION:This coin discriminating device 18 provided with a detection means 10 for detecting the state of an inserted coin and constituted so as to compare the detection result of the means 10 with the reference value to discriminate the validity/invalidity and sort of the inserted coin and lead the valid coin to a storing part is also provided with a carrying means 19 for carrying a coin to be a reference to the detection part 10 at a prescribed timing and a reference value updating means for updating the reference value by the detection result of a reference coin carried by the reference coin carrying means 19. The means is used as a valid coin carrying means for carrying a valid coin stored in the storing part to the detection part 10. Thereby a value influenced by a change in an external environment is used as a new reference value for discriminating processing and discriminating processing considering a change in the external environment can be executed.</p> |
