PURPOSE:To realize instantaneous re-lighting, stable instantaneous lighting and light dimming by connecting switching elements respectively in parallel to a bypass and sub choke coils connected in series to a pulse choke coil, so as to regulate the elements. CONSTITUTION:Upon turning-on of TRIACc 26, 28, a current flows in the TRIACs 26, 28 and a pulse choke coil 20 so that a discharge lamp 12 is lighted at electric power larger than a rated value, for instantaneous stable lighting and instantaneous re-lighting. When the TRIAC 28 is turned off with the TRIAC 26 turned on, the current flows in the TRIAC 26, a sub choke coil 24 and the pulse choke coil 20 so that rated lamp electric power is supplied to the discharge lamp 12. Furthermore, when the TRIAC 26 is phase-controlled with the TRIAC 28 turned off, a quantity of the current flowing in a bypass choke coil 22 is regulated, thereby dimming light. |
