PURPOSE:To automatically set a window value at an optimum value and to display the value by investigating data distribution near the window value, deciding window width and a window level value, and executing a histogran equalizing processing to adjacent data. CONSTITUTION:Image data in an image memory 2 are transmitted to a histogram processor 3, and a histogram is prepared and further divided into blocks by extracting the center of gravity. Concerning the data of the block corresponding to the window value to be normally designated, a histogram equalizing processor 4 transforms the data by the histogram equalizing processing. For all the image data containing the transformed data, a gradation level is decided for each data value by a window transforming device 5. At such a time, the window width is the range of the data value in the relevant block, and the intermediate value is the window level. The respective image data at the decided gradation levels are stored in an image display memory 6 and afterwards displayed on a display CRT 7 as images. |
