<p>PURPOSE:To improve the flowability of a developer and image quality. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic particles 5 formed by dispersing magnetic powder in a resin binder are subjected to instantaneous heat treatment at a peak temp. between the glass transition temp. of the resin binder+100 deg.C and this temp.+500 deg.C to obtain an electrostatic latent image developer such as a magnetic toner or a binder type carrier. The heat treatment time is preferably <=2sec. The exposure of magnetic powder to the surface of the developer is suppressed, high durability and environmental stability are ensured and electric charges are stabilized even at high humidity. The occurrence of cracks in the developer is prevented and the amt. of fine powder is reduced, accordingly the deterioration of the developer and the contamination of a photosensitive body are not caused and the environmental resistance is maintained. Since high electric resistance is ensured, carrier development is hardly caused in case of the carrier.</p> |
