A device providing smooth, controlled movement of a support along any plane path or along a path which is inscribed on certain defined surfaces (e.g. cones, cylinders). The device consists of an adjustable telescoping pole arranged on a motor-driven dolly moving along a set path which may be defined by straight or curved rails. The pole supports an adjustable joint which holds a swivelling dollying device (patent application no. 91-08870, Paris, 15 July 1991) for moving the support along a rectilinear path. The movement of the motor-driven dolly is controlled by that of the support on the swivelling dollying device. The device is particularly suitable for photography, film-making and video filming. The support is provided with a lighting system, a filming apparatus or both. |
