PURPOSE:To provide a lead-acid battery high in energy density, cycle life or the like by adding tin to a positive electrode active material, and alkaline metal ion to electrolytic liquid. CONSTITUTION:0.01 to 5wt.% of tin, or alloy containing tin, or a compound containing tin is added to an unformed active material containing tetrabasic sulfate, and 0.01 to 5mol/l of alkaline metal ion is added to electrolytic liquid, thereby manufacturing a lead-acid battery. According to this construction, the softening of a positive electrode active material can be restrained, and the diffusion of sulfuric acid as an electrolytic liquid can be facilitated. Furthermore, the generation of a passive state layer at grid interface can be restrained. |
